Your data
Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, share and protect personal information under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
This policy explains how Indian Interior Designers Association(“IIDA”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you use iida.org.in. We handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Indian Interior Designers Association, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, is the data fiduciary for personal data collected through this website. Contact: iida.official.org@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Information you give us in forms — when you submit an enquiry or a membership application: your name, email address, telephone number, city, professional or business details, qualifications, and anything else you choose to include. Applications may also involve documents you send us, such as proof of education, a resume or a portfolio.
- Account information — if you register for member resources: username, email address, and an encrypted password.
- Usage and device data — collected automatically through Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, approximate location (city/region level), referring site, device type, browser, and anonymised interaction data.
- Server and security logs — our hosting provider records IP addresses and request data to operate the site and to detect and block malicious traffic. Form submissions are rate-limited by IP address for the same reason.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. We do not collect payment card details on this website.
3. Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiries and process membership applications.
- To provide member services, resources, events and directory listings.
- To send you information you have asked for, and — where you have consented — news about events, awards and membership.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
- To meet legal or regulatory obligations.
We rely on your consent for marketing communications, and on the necessity of performing our agreement with you for membership administration. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-NGR094CYS9) sets analytics cookies so we can understand how the site is used. Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed:
- Hostinger — website hosting.
- Google (Analytics 4, Search Console) — website analytics and search performance.
- Google (Gmail) — our correspondence email.
Some of these providers process data outside India. We share data with them only for the purposes described above. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiry submissions are kept for up to 24 months. Membership application and membership records are kept for the duration of membership and for up to 7 years afterwards, to meet accounting and legal obligations. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s default retention period. Security logs are kept for up to 12 months.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to: give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you; correct or complete it; erase it where we no longer need it; withdraw consent; or nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf. Write to iida.official.org@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS as a set of static pages, which materially reduces its attack surface. Access controls and regular updates are applied to the systems that hold member records. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authority of any personal data breach as required by law.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above shows the current version.
