Terms & Conditions

The terms governing IIDA membership, fees, code of conduct, use of the membership badge, the Members Directory and this website.

These terms govern your use of iida.org.in and, where applicable, your membership of the Indian Interior Designers Association(“IIDA”, “we”, “us”). By using this website or applying for membership you accept these terms.

1. About us

IIDA is a private, member-funded professional membership association registered as an enterprise under the Government of India’s MSME/Udyam scheme in Bengaluru, Karnataka (Registration No. 3345441789). We are not a government department, statutory regulator, or accrediting authority, and we are not connected to the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), USA. Please read our Disclaimer & Legal Status before applying.

2. Membership

2.1 Application. Membership is by application. We may ask for proof of education, work experience, a resume, or a portfolio. Applications are reviewed and we may accept or decline any application at our discretion. We will tell you the outcome.

2.2 Accuracy. You must give complete and accurate information. Providing false or misleading information is grounds for refusal or termination of membership without refund.

2.3 Term. Unless stated otherwise at the time of joining, membership runs for 12 months from the date it is confirmed and does not renew automatically. We will contact you before expiry.

2.4 What membership gives you. Access to member resources, invitations to events and workshops, eligibility to enter the IIDA Awards, a listing in the Members Directory, and the right to display the IIDA membership badge while your membership is current.

2.5 What membership does not give you.Membership is a voluntary professional affiliation. It is not a licence, a degree, or a statutory certification to practise, and it does not replace any qualification or local authority approval you may need. You must not describe yourself or your business as “government approved”, “government certified”, “accredited”, or “licensed” on the basis of IIDA membership.

2.6 Personal to you. Membership is personal (or, for corporate membership, specific to the named entity) and cannot be transferred or shared.

3. Fees

Membership fees vary by category and are set out at the time of application. Fees are payable in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We may revise fees for future terms; a change will never affect a membership period you have already paid for. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

4. Code of conduct

Membership is subject to our Code of Conduct, which is published in full and forms part of these terms. In summary, as a member you agree to: practise honestly and competently; represent your qualifications, experience and membership status accurately; disclose supplier commissions to your clients; respect client confidentiality; comply with applicable laws, building codes and safety requirements; not misrepresent IIDA’s status or your relationship with it; and treat other members, students and staff with respect. We may investigate complaints and, where a breach is established, issue a written caution, impose conditions, suspend, or terminate membership. Termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund.

5. Use of our name, logo and badge

The IIDA name, logo and membership badge remain our property. You may use the membership badge only while your membership is current, only to indicate that you are a member, and without alteration. You must stop using it immediately if your membership ends. You may not use our name or logo in a way that suggests IIDA endorses your work, certifies your competence, or that you are an office-bearer of IIDA unless you are.

6. Members Directory

You control the information you submit for your directory listing and are responsible for its accuracy. We may edit or remove listings that are inaccurate, unlawful, or in breach of these terms. A listing confirms membership status only — it is not a verification of qualifications, competence, insurance or work quality, and IIDA is not a party to any engagement between a member and a client.

7. Website use

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, interfere with its operation, scrape or bulk-download the Members Directory, or upload malicious code. Content on this site is owned by IIDA or its licensors and may not be reproduced commercially without permission. If you submit content to us, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use it for the purpose you submitted it for.

8. Events, awards and resources

Events, awards programmes and resources are offered subject to their own published rules, dates and eligibility criteria. We may change or cancel any event or programme; where an event fee has been paid and the event is cancelled by us, we will refund that fee.

9. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the website and member services available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with membership or this website is limited to the membership fee you paid for the current membership term, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of business.

10. Suspension and termination

You may end your membership at any time by writing to us. We may suspend or end membership for breach of these terms or the code of conduct, for non-payment, or where required by law. Clauses that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to members by email or through the website. Continued use of the site or membership after that constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any non-waivable rights you have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
